Sigh...

I cant decide if I should be happy or sad. I cry tears of happiness and sadness.
We have been wanting to sell our house for a while. I hate it. It is small, the builder was cheap, the closets were not big enough for a normal size hanger, the wall lines were not straight, etc.

HOWEVER, it was our first house. We bought it and built it from the ground up. We had all 3 kids in that house. We built an AWESOME deck, and I painted a gorgeous wall mural. It has been broken in and loved over and over. I love that house.

So naturally, I am torn. I hate it, but I love it.

Well it is now officially not ours. We closed on our house yesterday forever!! Good bye wonderful horrible starter livable lovable home! I will miss you forever and never! I'm still a little confused.

I feel the same way about ours! Although we have renters, so it's technically still ours, it's so strange to see someone else living there.

I totally have the same feelings about our first home. I LOVED it! Everything...it was just too small. But every thing about that house was ours! We're renting it out right now and part of me wishes we'd sold it to someone who could love it like we do. Instead we have renters (who are fabulous), but I don't think they really appreciate the LOVE that house has been through. Two of my babies came home there...and I sort of in a strange way wanted to bring my third home to that house!

Such a weird mix of emotions hey?

All of our kids will more than likely all be born in different rental apartment/townhomes so I don't know how it feels! BUT the first house we own I am sure I am going to cry like a baby to leave to a bigger house just because of the memories we built there. I am sure once you are settled and in a routine, you'll feel so at home and rarely think of your old house!

I still drive by our old house whenever we go to New Orleans. I like to show Shelby where she lived as a baby. The great thing for you is your old house is just right down the road so you can drive the kids by whenever you are feeling nostalgic!
