ZZZ zonk

Nana was here for 3 days on her way home from visiting other family. It was so short but we mashed everything we could in. We love it when she comes to town. Too bad she is on a tiny mattress on the floor, sharing it with kicky Natalie. Just a few more months and she will have a real bed in a real room to sleep on without any kids!

Boots has been wearing himself out lately. We have been going to the pool and just keeping busy. The other Night we went and helped Brian's parents move in and we were out late. He zonked on the way to Walmart for a few last minute things before Fathers Day. He then Zonked again in Walmart. haha I love when kids fall asleep in unusual places.

We are exhausted though. Moving takes it out of you. I am not complaining because we are moving towards bigger and better things, but I am so tired of boxing stuff up. It is 830 tonight, and I have a million things I need to do. Guess what? I am not doing any of them. I am so tired.

Court has been adorable lately. She is always sweet, but she has been nodding her head yes and saying Yes sir when she wants to say yes. I love it. Her hair is getting longer, and she always wants to walk by herself. What happened to my baby?! She is gone!    WHAT A BORING POST. Just wanted to put something up!

padi

FIRST and most exciting for me... our house progress. So other than discovering VERY wrong dimensions in one of the key rooms we changed, everything is looking great. I am hoping they get this fixed asap since it is a big reason we chose this floor plan and the layout we did. BUT it is getting closer every day. I keep thinking that me and the kids will get sick of driving by it everyday, but guess what? WE DONT! Boots will say "my room is right above the garage!" which it is, and they fight over whose windows are whose etc. AHHH I am so anxious! It already seem so long ago that I picked all of my colors for everything and I want to hurry up and see it all together!

Nanabear is here and we LOVE having her come and visit. Even if it is just for 3 days, we love that we live in a layover city! Everyone fights for her attention, her bed, her ipad, her food, her coke, and to sit on her all the time. Ah we love the Nana.

So, the kids finished their first set of swim lessons for the summer and they did great. They had a few tears here and there. I tried to bribe them both at the beginning with a trip to the zoo if no one cried, but they both did a little. So we shall see... But they are both doing awesome and swimming underwater. My goal was to get Nat swimming across pool and feel comfortable coming up for air and going back and swimming further. She got it. She is also jumping in and swimming across, doing a 15 plus second back float, a front float, a back swim(I would not call it a back crawl!) and just a little fish.
Boots, my goal for him was to get him reacquainted with the pool and swimming. He also forgets that he can come up for air, but he is doing awesome and by the end of summer they will both be rockin it! Ariel you are the best!!

Little man has been pooped out lately. Tonight he went to bed early because he was being so grumpy and whiny. And when he gets tired, he get extra loud and crazy, which is something that I have no patience for. Love him, but I really love him when he is sleeping! He's just so cute!

There they go stealing my ipad all the time. Natalie literally sneaks into my room each morning to take the ipad. When I hear her and she gets busted, she is not a happy girl. I really dont care if she plays with it, but it is funny to hear her try and sell me what game or video she is going to do. haha

After girls camp was over, Brian was asked to go to Primary in one of the wards and visit all of the kids and do his captain Moroni thing again. He loved it. The spirit was so strong in that little meeting.
I am so grateful that he finally shaved and cut it. Although I was wishing a little for a little goatee or something creative.  Of course he didn't, just the traditional shave face off haha.

Captain Daddy

Daddy of the year award goes to BRIAN!! He was awesome (other than the fact that Natalie told me that she was bored watching phineas and Ferb all day everyday) while I was gone at Girls Camp. haha But he was great. The kids were fed, had fun, went to their swim lessons, and stayed alive all week long while I really enjoyed getting spiritually uplifted and tired-ed out at camp! I need a pedicure SO bad and a really really good sleep in. But it was a great week!

Today was my first day back and it felt good to get in a good workout at the gym, watch a little swim lessons(where I watched Nat dive in and swim across pool!), go to the pool to get my tan on, and then have a nice relaxing movie night at home with the kids. It was no Friday Fun Movie night. but it was fun! We got Mr Poppers Penguins and the kids loved parts of it. It was cute, just didn't catch their attention like some. We POPPED POPCORN, had frozen yogurt tubes(they were antarctic-ish) and acted like penguins. The kids then pretended that little kernels of popcorn were their penguin baby eggs. haha It was a fun night to just hang out in pajamas. That doesn't happen very often since I feel like we are always going.
While I was gone, Dad took photos of the events I missed including CUTE hairdo's thanks to Auntie Kathleen (the hairdresser!) and some deck side tanning. haha It cracks me up that my 5 year old goes outside to tan. There is also picture proof of the newest latest and greatest of our new house coming right along!

Brian also did something very wonderful this week for Girls Camp. For the last 2 months or so he has been growing his facial hair out and memorizing lines to play Captain Moroni in the Young Womens camp program. He did a wonderful job and really brought the spirit! I couldn't believe how well he did! I kept waiting to hear his voice fluctuation or to have him forget his lines but he really just did awesome. He was asked to tour the stake Primary to do sharing time from the Stake Primary President, so he is going to one of the wards in our Stake Tomorrow to do that. I couldn't say enough about how awesome it was and how believable he was! I will try to post a video link as well if I can.

We'll see

Yesterday was dreamy. We woke up, and for the first time in what seems like forever, we had nowhere to be with nothing to do all day. We lounged around the house and I made pancakes and sausage. I haven't cooked breakfast in forever because of smells while having the house ready for showings. My kids LOVE pancakes so we just went for it (since fingers crossed our house has sold, again). And then we just had a day of errands but lazy errands. It was great. We tried to soak it in since who knows when the next day will come that can be like that!

That night we headed out to a baseball game for our friend Aidan's 30th birthday. Thanks to her snoopy-ness, it wasn't a surprise but it was a lot of fun! Again, we have great friends!!

I know I will be up late-er tonight finishing up stuff for Girls Camp this week. I get to go for my 5th year in a row and I am excited for this year since we are at an awesome camp! Camp is so different here in Texas than it is in Canada though, it takes adjusting to A/C cabins and flushing toilets. But I can adjust quickly to that! So off we head in the morning and I am leaving the kids with Brian all week.
After Natalie had been tucked in tonight, she came out and asked if I would tell her one more story and snuggle with her. I couldn't resist, especially after she cried while telling me how much she would miss me this week. She did say it was because "Daddy doesn't let her watch Doc McStuffins and you do mommy. And you know I want to be a vet when I grow up. I don't always want to watch Phineas and Ferb with Dad." haha maybe there will be other things she misses too.

Already another month?

We had a great Memorial Day. We started out with the kids out on the lawn and Natalie insisted on reciting the pledge of Allegiance (which I think I have now learned thanks to her) I think Boots thinks he is too cool to put his hand on his heart.
We headed out to Breakfast at IHOP with some of our dear friends for their sad news that they are moving away from us (we will miss you Julie, Phil and girls :( )
It was definitely interesting explaining what memorial day is and the response and questions we were getting back from the kids.
Then it was lunch with the Fam at Jasons Deli and some sweet pooling at the Greens. We love spending time with Family on Memorial day. We always make it such a fun day, I guess that is because we have such great family!
Sleeping is such a hassle around our house. I feel like we have worked SO hard to get our kids sleeping through the night and sleeping well and sleeping in their own room. Although we do have nights were they come in with nightmares, or wet beds, they are sooo good! I love peaking in on them every night and seeing all fun positions they are in and the toys they sleep with. Love them.

Although this week was the first time we have actually waken our kids up for something in the middle of the night. There were a lot of storms this week at night, which is great, we always need the moisture. BUT, they are so stinking loud! The rain, wind, and hail just pound at your house! We usually don't do much of anything about these storms, especially Brian who is SO chill about storms. Anyway, one night I was woken up to Natalie crawling in bed with me. I thought she was just scared, so I snuggled on her a little until Brian walks in with Boots, Courtney, and Uncle Garrett(who had slept over that night) We all cram in the closet with some pillow and blankets. We could have gone back to sleep in there if it wasn't for our little comedian Courtney who just is silly always. She had the kids laughing so hard, there wasn't time to be scared of anything.
So there were no tornadoes(tormato as boots calls them), but Brian just felt like it wasn't safe and that we should be in the closet just in case. Luckily it was only for a half an hour and we were all back in our own snug beds!
We went on a little family walk the other night, since we had to be out of the house for another showing. We walked in the 90 something heat over to our NEW HOUSE! The foundation is poured and we are ready for framing and I can NOT wait for the big move in day! It cant come fast enough! IT WAS HOT! As you can tell by Natalie's little red face and what you cant see (hear) in this picture is the excess amounts of whining and complaining about how hot it was and how tired she was. NEVER ENDING!
